The NSS Unit of Loreto College held a Health Camp on 17th February to celebrate the 114th Foundation Day of Loreto College. The unit partnered with a team of medical experts from CMRI Hospital. The camp was held in college from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. In the week leading up to the event, NSS volunteers spread the word by distributing flyers to local vendors on Park Street and Camac Street, informing them about the free health services offered. The camp featured services like consultations with doctors, weight assessments, ECG screenings, blood pressure checks, and blood sugar tests. The contact details of all attendees were recorded to keep track for proper documentation and possible follow-ups.
Around 47 patients participated, including members of the college support staff and drivers of the staff members of the college. The medical team consisted of five dedicated experts who provided attentive care and professional advice to each participant. The initiative received a positive response from the local community. The N.S.S unit will also supply the medicines for the support staff. The Health Camp was a meaningful outreach programme that honoured the institution’s commitment to service and social responsibility.
