REPORT ON 7-DAY NSS SPECIAL CAMP ( 2nd January to 9th January , 2026)

The NSS Unit of Loreto College organized a seven-day Special Camp at Boinchtola village starting on 2nd January 2026. On Day 1 and Day 2 (2nd–3rd January 2026), participants took part in a Shola craft making workshop conducted alongside Bhagini Sudhira Nari Kalyan. During this workshop, women learned eco-friendly, income-generating skills from Ms. Sabita Kar, Ms. Maya Rani Sarkar, and Ms. Chytali Das. NSS volunteers engaged over 95 schoolchildren with educational games and recreational activities to support their learning and well-being. Day 5 (7th January 2026) covered cybercrime and scam awareness, teaching villagers about online safety and responsible digital practices. Student volunteers played an important role in planning, coordinating, and engaging with the community, making the camp impactful and participatory.
On Day 6 (8th January,  2026) of NSS Special Camp, Ms. Ranita Sen taught Boinchtola village women paper bag and crochet making, promoting sustainable livelihoods, self-reliance, confidence, and women empowerment through ecofriendly skills.Day 7 (9th January, 2026) celebrated Youth Day with the children of Boinchtola Upendranath Vidya Mandir . The program highlighted the life and ideals of Swami Vivekananda and engaged and educated the children through various activities like Value Bingo, a twisted form of the Simon Says game as ‘ Swami Vivekananda Says’ and the Awake Act Action game.
The NSS Special Camp effectively combined service and learning to empower the community and the people of Boinchtola , with excessive focus on women and children. It also strengthened the students’ sense of social responsibility while achieving NSS and NAAC goals.
