The Department of Geography, Loreto College, Kolkata, organized its departmental reunion titled “Homecoming”, marking a memorable gathering of former and present members of the department. The event aimed to reconnect alumni with their alma mater and celebrate shared memories under the same academic roof.
Faculty members, alumni, and current students participated enthusiastically, creating a warm and nostalgic atmosphere. Informal interactions and reminiscence strengthened the bond between different generations of the department. The day commenced through a prayer service followed by different fun activities and melodious songs. Various game stalls like Whispering Challenge, Break the Pyramid and Ball in the Bucket etc were put up and upon winning small prizes were also awarded to the winners to ignite the childlike spirit in everyone. The reunion also included refreshments, with food and coffee served to the attendees. Special food packets and gifts were arranged for the alumnae as a gesture of appreciation. A cake-cutting ceremony added to the celebratory spirit of the event and became a memorable highlight of the programme.
Informal interactions, reminiscence, and collective reflection strengthened intergenerational connections and reinforced a sense of belonging. The event successfully highlighted the importance of alumni engagement in academic growth and concluded on a joyful note, making the reunion a memorable and meaningful homecoming for all participants.
