B.ED SEM 4 SESSION ON HOW TO FACE INTERVIEWS By Mrs. Reena Sharda

On 24th February, 2026, the Career Counselling Cell of Loreto College, in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), organized an interactive session titled "How To Face Interviews". The session was specifically designed for the students of B.Ed., Semester 4, to prepare them for their upcoming professional careers in education. The session was conducted by Mrs. Reena Sharda, Retired Vice Principal of South Point School, Kolkata. The program commenced at 09:00 a.m. in Room – 410 and concluded at 10:30 a.m..
Mrs. Sharda shared her extensive experience as an educator and administrator to provide students with practical insights into the interview process. The session commenced with a fundamental reflection on the choice of pursuing a B.Ed. degree, setting the stage for a deep dive into professional documentation. Mrs. Sharda emphasized that a Curriculum Vitae (CV) must be meticulously organized, featuring educational details in a tabular format, co-curricular activities, notable achievements, and personal details.
Regarding interview preparation, the speaker highlighted the importance of logistical readiness, such as knowing the exact place, time, and contact person for the interview. The core of the interaction focused on handling the interview itself with confidence and authenticity. Students were encouraged to prepare key points regarding their strengths and weaknesses rather than memorizing a script. It is essential to know one’s own academic history, including marks and important landmarks. The speaker also emphasized on the  importance of researching the institution and understanding the specific requirements of the teaching role.
The session was highly interactive, allowing students to ask questions regarding common challenges faced during school interviews. Mrs. Sharda provided personalized advice on how to highlight teaching skills and handle difficult technical questions effectively. Overall, the session was extremely beneficial for the final year B.Ed. students. It provided them with the necessary confidence and a strategic roadmap to navigate professional interviews, ensuring they are well-equipped for their future placements in the education sector.
