On 23 February 2026, the Career Counselling Cell of Loreto College organised a Guidance Session for NET exclusively for PG Psychology 1st year students. The session was conducted by Ms. Sayani Banerjee, Management Faculty, Department of Psychology, Loreto College. The primary objective of the session was to familiarise students with the structure, eligibility criteria, preparation strategies, and career prospects associated with the National Eligibility Test (NET). Ms. Banerjee provided a comprehensive overview of the examination pattern, including Paper I and Paper II, and emphasised the importance of conceptual clarity, systematic preparation, and consistent practice.
The speaker also addressed common misconceptions regarding the examination and highlighted effective time-management techniques, recommended study resources, and strategic approaches to revision. Special emphasis was laid on understanding the evolving nature of questions and aligning preparation with the latest syllabus guidelines. The interactive nature of the session encouraged students to raise queries related to subject selection, academic career pathways, and research opportunities after qualifying NET. The discussion proved highly informative and motivating, particularly for those aspiring to pursue careers in academia and research.
Overall, the session was insightful and constructive. It not only enhanced students’ awareness about the NET examination but also instilled confidence and direction in their preparation journey. The programme successfully fulfilled its objective of guiding and inspiring postgraduate students towards academic excellence.
