The Loreto College Annual Sports Day 2025–2026 was successfully held on 28th February 2026 at the primary school ground of St. Xavier’s Collegiate School. We were honoured to have Ms. Anusri Ghosh, Chairperson of the Athletic Commission of the Volleyball Federation of India, as our Guest of Honour, and Ms. Shreya Ghosh, an International Table Tennis player, as our Chief Guest. Their gracious presence added prestige to the occasion and inspired all the participants.
The event was conducted as both an inter-college and an interdepartmental competition. Colleges including St. Xavier’s College (Autonomous), Jadavpur University, Presidency University, BESC, Shri Shikshayatan College, Bethune College and NSHM participated enthusiastically. The Inter-college section featured events for both men and women, such as a 75m flat race, a 50m relay, and a tug-of-war. St. Xavier’s College (Autonomous) emerged as the overall champions.
Interdepartmental events included flat races, sack races, skipping races, relays, and tug-of-war. These events were divided into categories for each year of the undergraduate level with separate categories for the postgraduate and B. Ed. students.
The individual championships for each year were won by Shreya Sen, first year, Naomi Pinto, Second Year, Department of Psychology, Kiara Hatton, Third Year, Department of Political Science; Faustina Samadar, B. Ed., and Priyanka Paul, Post-graduate Student, Department of Psychology.
The Department of Psychology were crowned the overall champions and also received the award for the best March Past.
The Sports Day concluded with a prize distribution ceremony celebrating teamwork, sportsmanship, dedication, and the true spirit of healthy competition. The Sports Day was vibrant, memorable, and a grand success.
