A Student Exchange Programme was organized by the Departments of Geography of Rani Birla Girls’ College and Loreto College, Kolkata, for the Semester III students of the respective departments on 5 March 2026. As part of the exchange initiative, students from Rani Birla Girls’ College visited Loreto College, while students from Loreto College visited Rani Birla Girls’ College. The academic sessions were conducted simultaneously at the respective college premises from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. 24 students from Loreto College and 10 studentsfrom Rani Birla Girls’College participated in the exchange programme.
The programme was organized around the theme “Megascopic Identification of Mineral and Rock Samples.” The primary objective of the session was to enhance students’ practical knowledge and observational skills in identifying various mineral and rock specimens through megascopic examination.
The exchange programme provided a valuable platform for academic interaction between students of the two institutions. Participants engaged in interactive discussions, collaborative learning, and practical identification of geological samples, which helped deepen their understanding of the subject. The initiative also contributed to strengthening academic cooperation and fostering a spirit of knowledge exchange between the two departments.
The programme was conducted successfully and witnessed active participation from both students and faculty members of the respective institutions.
