The Placement Cell of Loreto College, Kolkata, organized a Pre-Placement Talk on the “Ascend Campus Proposition 2025–2026” in collaboration with ICICI Bank for the final-year students. The session aimed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the organization, the roles offered, recruitment process, and career growth opportunities within the bank.
The session began with an introduction to the legacy and evolution of ICICI Bank. The speakers highlighted its establishment in 1955 with the support of the Government of India and the World Bank, and its transformation from a development financial institution into a leading private sector bank with a strong global presence. They emphasized the bank’s extensive network of over 7,000 branches and 10,000 ATMs, along with its commitment to innovation, customer-centric services, and technological advancements such as digital banking initiatives.
The representatives elaborated on the organizational culture, focusing on values such as customer orientation, risk and compliance awareness, teamwork, and ethical business practices. The concept of “One Bank, One Team” and the importance of maintaining a balance between customer satisfaction and institutional integrity were strongly emphasized. The speakers also shed light on the bank’s corporate social responsibility initiatives, including contributions to healthcare, environmental sustainability, and livelihood generation.
A significant portion of the session was dedicated to explaining the “Ascend” program and the role of a Relationship Manager. Students were informed that the role primarily involves customer relationship management, business development, and sales advisory. The importance of adaptability, willingness to take up sales-oriented responsibilities, and maintaining long-term client relationships was highlighted. The bank also emphasized that candidates may be placed across different locations and business groups based on organizational requirements.
The recruitment process was explained in detail, consisting of an online application with a descriptive questionnaire, followed by a video-proctored aptitude test covering verbal ability, logical reasoning, quantitative aptitude, and general knowledge. Shortlisted candidates would then proceed to a personal interview stage. The speakers also outlined the structured 12-week training program designed to equip selected candidates with practical knowledge of banking operations, customer engagement, and product understanding.
The session further covered the compensation structure, including salary components, performance-linked incentives, and additional benefits such as loans and retirement benefits. The offered position of Deputy Manager II was presented as an opportunity for rapid career growth, supported by continuous learning and leadership engagement.
The talk concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session, where students clarified their doubts regarding roles, expectations, and career progression. The session ended with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the representatives of ICICI Bank and the Placement Cell for organizing an informative and insightful session.
