The Loreto College Alumnae Association hosted a Memorial Meeting for Sr. Maeve Hughes, former Principal, Loreto College on 15 November 2025. The meeting was attended by around hundred ex-students and former as well as current teachers and current students of the college. The special presentation on Sr. Maeve's life and times and the reminiscences shared by former Sisters, ex-principals, teachers and students foregrounded the legacy of a stalwart like Sr. Maeve and once again established the link between past and present. The memorial began with an all-faith prayer service and went on to showcase a ppt presentation on the life and times of Sr Maeve. Several Sisters who had worked with her and knew her well reminisced about her passion for literature both in English and Bengali. Her work amongst the tribal population particularly during her Ranchi days were also highlighted. After the presentation many of the teachers who had been employed in the College during her time spoke about how she cared for each and every one of them. The past pupils of the college followed suit.
