An online poster/infographic competition to commemorate three environmentally significant days in March-April 2025, was organized for all Undergraduate Semester II students of Environmental Studies at Loreto College. The competition, titled "Ecovision: Towards Sustainability", was held during April 9-22, 2025 and celebrated World Water Day (March 22), World Meteorological Day (March 23) and Earth Day (April 22).
The three themes for poster/infographic were:
1. Glacier Preservation (Save Our Glaciers).
2. SDG 13 Climate Action: Take Urgent Action to Combat Climate Change and Its Impacts (Early warning systems for climate disaster prevention and mitigation).
3. SDG 7 Affordable and Clean Energy: Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all (Our Power, Our Planet – Renewable Energy and Clean Electricity).
The competition was judged by the well-known documentary film maker, Ms. Sarmishtha Dutta Roy, Faculty, Department of Film Studies, Murlidhar College.
Out of the 23 entries, the following is the result of the event:
1. First Place - Sudarshana Chakraborty, Economics
2. Joint First Place - Adrija Bera, Geography
3. Second Place - Mondithoka Charity, History
4. Third Place - Sushmitaa Sinha, History
5. Joint Third Place (Special Mention) - Srija Roy, Economics
The event was an endeavour to create an environmentally conscious and empathetic student community.
