Speaking on the topic, ‘Structured Economic Thinking for Policy Design and Reform’ among students, Ms. Bose threw light on problem solving, economic thinking and decision making as the preliminaries in the field of public policy design and reforms. She introduced tools like the MECE framework that help in the analysis of complex problems by breaking them into non overlapping components. She stressed on how issue trees and hypothesis trees help narrow down choices based on expected outcomes.
Ms. Srijita, being an aced orator could make the session engaging and thought provoking for the students with her nuanced, yet vivid exposition. Students across the semesters interacted thoroughly and engaged enthusiastically in the session. They also asked stimulating questions within and beyond the scope of the topic that was addressed in the session. The program ended with a formal vote of thanks outlining the contribution of those without whom the session would not have been completed successfully.
