AKSHAR SCHOOL VISIT
DATE: 12.03.2026
VENUE: Akshar School
On 12th March, 2026, twenty five B.Ed. Semester 4 teacher-trainees of Loreto College visited Akshar School from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. as part of an academic exposure programme.
The institution follows an inclusive educational approach where children with additional learning needs study alongside mainstream students, promoting equality and holistic development. The philosophy of the school reflects the meaning of the word “Akshar,” which symbolizes the beginning of learning and the limitless pursuit of knowledge, aiming to nurture academic growth along with values and social awareness.
The visit aimed to provide the trainees with an opportunity to observe classroom practices and interact with learners in an alternative learning environment.
During the visit, the teacher-trainees were taken to different classrooms, starting from Class I all the way up to the Senior NIOS Batch, where they observed how classes were conducted. The observation allowed them to understand the teaching methods, classroom management techniques, and the ways in which teachers engaged students in the learning process in an inclusive school.
The B.Ed. trainees also spent time interacting with the children through various group activities. They played games such as Bluff, Uno, and Memory games in teams with the students, which helped create a lively and friendly atmosphere while encouraging teamwork and communication.
In addition to the games, the teacher trainees conducted a craft activity with the children. Together they created hand puppets and stuffed toys using socks. This activity encouraged creativity and collaboration among the children and allowed the B.Ed. trainees to engage them in a fun and meaningful learning experience.
Through the various activities, the students began to share their personal experiences and interests with the teacher-trainees, allowing the trainees to get valuable insight into their lives.
All in all, the visit to the Akshar Foundation School was a valuable and enriching experience for the B.Ed. teacher-trainees. It provided them with practical exposure to classroom dynamics and inclusive learning and highlighted the importance of interactive and activity-based learning in education.
