Cine Society Orientation

The advantages of being a part of the Cine Society are learning beyond classrooms, honing professional and creative skills, and interacting with likeminded students interested in cinema. The Cine Society organized its Orientation Programme with such eagerness that students were warmly welcomed into the vibrant world of cinema and creative art. The programme introduced students to the vision, aims, and range of activities and events conducted by the society throughout the year.

The session was guided by the society presidents: Shreya Sinha (President) and Upasana Barua (Vice President), with Neelantika Goswami (Treasurer), Sukanya Sengupta (Social Media Manager), and Manisha Ghosh (Report Writer) in attendance. They were greatly supported and motivated by the revered faculty mentors, Mrs. Dipanwita Ghosh, Dr. Debasree Sinha, and Dr. Soumya Dutta.

Established to value film as art and education, the Cine Society seeks to be a vehicle that enhances critical thinking and creativity. It does this through screenings, debates, and contests. The society further provides students with opportunities to demonstrate their skills in filmmaking, scriptwriting, photography, and visual narration. It promotes discovery of world cinema, inter-disciplinary linkages, collaboration, and leadership through workshops, projects, and collaborative programs.

The society announced its key events and activities of the academic year:
