As part of the IKS initiatives, the departments of English, Bengali and Hindi in collaboration with IQAC, Loreto College, organised a special IKS lecture by Ms. Harshita Srivastava, Doctoral Fellow, Department of English and Cultural Studies, Christ University and an alumna of the Department of English, on 19 September 2025. Titled "Iconographic Symbolism of the Divine Feminine in Indian Art Forms", the lecture traced the development and evolution of the iconographic representation of Indian Goddesses in paintings, sculptures and modern-day puja art forms observed in festivals. It also explored illustrated case studies of Shakta iconography (including temple art, paintings by secluded and understudied communities, popular art, and more), while also engaging students with hands-on interactive activities. The lecture was attended by the students of the English (PG and UG), Bengali and Hindi departments and the faculty members of the three departments.
